Khanh and San met in 2009 at the University of California San Diego at a cultural event for Vietnamese students. San was one of the organizers for the Boat People Commemoration Night and Khanh auditioned for the skit. Through the event they became friends. A few months later, their friendship blossomed into something more.

Over the years, Khanh has moved to different places to pursue a career in Pharmacy, including moving to a different place to undergo training. Meanwhile, San stayed in San Diego when he was not traveling the world for Oceanography research. Being miles apart, and sometimes, nautical miles apart, has strengthened their relationship in a unique way. Just like other couples, they loved and bickered but often went the distance to see each other and make their relationship work.

One of their favorite activities together includes walking along Scripps Pier to watch the sunset and explore the tide pools. Wherever they go, the ocean and San Diego will hold a special place in their hearts.

What Khanh admires most about San is his compassion for others, passion for intellectual pursuits, and countless hobbies including cooking, photography, and gardening to grow his own veggies.

Khanh wins San’s heart with the warm and happy feelings that she has with everyone around her. San values Khanh’s kindness, gentle manner, and creativity. Her love, care, and smiles make every day a brighter day for San.

Together with their family, Khanh and San look forward to having you at their wedding this December.
